Deadmau5 filled Beta Nightclub when he played in Denver a few months ago and Fox Theatre was no different. I’d have to say that I enjoyed this set more only because I was more familar with his music, specifically his latest album - Random Album Title.
The Crystal Method played Beta Nightclub for the second time this year, once again playing to a packed house, which is no surprise. They ended their set with a track from their upcoming fourth studio album, which is set to drop some time in early 2009, so keep a look out for that. Now…if we could only just get them to start a ‘Live Show’ tour…
Rise Against front man Tim McIlrath bringing some hardcore punk to the Fillmore Auditorium. He was also kind enough to congratulate the crowd for making Colorado a Blue State and challenged them lyrically to a track off their first album, which from what I could tell, they passed with flying colors, singing along with Tim word-for-word.
James Zabiela has to be one of the most energetic DJ’s I’ve seen to date. The crowd definitely fed off his energy, as the guy literally did not stop moving his entire set. He also played Beta back-to-back nights. These shots are from round two. I’ve included a set of his from earlier in the year below…
Deadmau5, pronounced ‘dead mouse’, played to a PACKED house at BETA Nightclub on Saturday night, dawning the mouse head sporadically throughout the set.
John Digweed has been on my radar quite sometime, although I’m fairly new to the dance music scene, but nontheless, I was looking forward to seeing half of the Sasha and Digweed duo. I have been listening to the 2007 Bonnaroo set from S & D at least once a week for quite a while now and the first 20 minutes of that mix is some of the best progressive house out there. I was tempted to tap Mr. Digweed on the shoulder and see if he could re-create the moment, but he had one hell of a set going so I decieded to leave it be…plus, I didn’t want my camera smashed while being dragged through the kitchen to the back alley.
